It's Mother's Day!

Whether you had a great experience or a not-so-great experience being a child, most everybody loves Mother's Day.

The simple act of acknowledging that a Mom does have a very special place on this earth drops a cloak of warmth around us for which mashed potatoes are often substituted.

If you're lucky enough to be a mom, and have survived it 'til the youngins matured, your report card is playing out before your eyes while your adult kids are parenting your grands. (Yes, that is how you acted thirty years ago.)

No need to get into a contest over who had the best, or worst, mom. Everyone can appreciate the concept that a mom is symbolic of the finest nurturing in the world, a nurturing that we bask in when it's available and grieve about when it's not.

Pass the green beans, please.
